Of girls, awards, and heroes

So, tonight was Sylvia’s Girl Scout Award Ceremony.  Just thought I’d share a couple pictures:

Lent … why did it have to be Lent

So … as you know, two years ago Topher dropped a bomb on me.  It was part of why I started blogging, and blogging kept me sane.  Last weekend he dropped another bomb on me, so I started writing again.  Tonight he kept it up.  I don’t know if it’s because I’m more approachable, whether it’s just time, or what.  He actually didn’t (until he just looked over my shoulder) know I was blogging … but … damn.

The House Hates Me

So, while being shuttled off to bed early because she was a whiny little pain in the ass, Annika cried out “I like school!  The house hates me!  And I’ve been having a lot of bad things today!”

Taking Sides

So … a couple years back the local Lutheran Church lost a third of their congregation, including their pastor, due to controversy over allowing homosexuals … to serve as lay ministers, to be members, to be priests … They, understandably, took it hard.  They’ve struggled, but they’ve survived.

With friends like these, who is needing enemas …

So, I wrote almost two years ago, about my son Adam having Ulcerative Colitis.  I thought I’d follow up on that, since there has been actual progress, and recently.

Giving it another go for Lent

As I’ve stated before, I consider lent a time in my life to do some introspection, and I’ve been struggling with that this year.  This time around, I don’t know what to do with myself.  Things have been going great, and at the same time some part of me has been falling apart.  Finding balance has become a struggle, and sometimes I feel like I’ve been swinging like a pendulum from one crisis to the next.

I’m late, but that’s OK.  I’m sure God understands ;-)  This is my lenten promise: I’m going to blog, from now to Easter, each and every day.

I don’t know what to expect.  You will definitely get some updates from me and my kids … you might get musings on World of Warcraft, Yahoo!, or even my bowling scores … you may be interested, or you may be bored, but I’m going to post anyway.

Let’s see if I can survive.
